Why Do People Wear Makeup?

Makeup has an extremely long history. It has been said that even Cleopatra used green and black powder to give her that signature eye look that people are still copying today ("why"). People wear makeup for many reasons that include just wearing it for fun, because of insecurities, covering up acne, showing self expression, hiding blemishes and scarring, concealing dark circles under the eyes, masking uneven skin, enhancing natural beauty or to make ones self look older or younger (Madison). People, such as teenagers, adults, and actors in theatre are good examples of people who wear make up for all types of different reasons. There are so many people that are suffering from facial imperfections and low self-confidence. Wearing makeup is something they can do to not only quickly but temporarily change that dreadful feeling of their appearance they feel their carrying around. ("Trends"). Some people wear makeup because they are truly unhappy with the way that they look and want makeup to change it. Out of 1,236 people, 1,004 of them said they wear makeup every day. The Majority of them said the main reason they wear it is to make them feel prettier ("Latest").
